April 5th, 2008 - Grave Sweeping Day
Grave Sweeping day is held on the 5th day of the 3rd lunar month.   It's a popular festival where families will get together and go to the grave site of their ancestors to clean the area around the grave.    It is a festive time, with good food, and various fun activities.  There is, however, also a spiritual element to the occasion.  Food is often offered to the dead relatives.  Family members are also expected to bow before the tomb to show respect to their ancestors.  This may be considered a form of worship.   There is a fine line between worship and honouring ones ancestors.

Please pray especially for new believers that they would understand the difference and be able to show respect without yielding to worship.  It is common for local believers to be harassed by evil spirits from time to time, especially if a family member is involved in any kind of spiritual rituals.  Pray that believers would understand who they are in Christ and be able to stand firm again any attacks from the darkness.
