A few weeks ago, we asked for prayer for the Ellie and her women's weaving guild. Jealousy and mistrust had crept in among the Believers while the non-Christians watched.
We praise God for peace among the weaving group. Ellie called a general meeting of all the weaving women in order to address the issues that others were talking about behind her back. Mistrust, jealousy, and hurt! As she did this, she laid out all the finances, how she has worked and what she had spent money on. Some things she had done without the permission of the group (things that helped the Christians financially), and she apologized for that. Then she offered to leave her position and let others take it on. In the end, all the women gave her a vote of confidence and said, "We really wouldn't know where to begin if we had to do that job anyway!!"
- Praise God for His faithfulness and assistance in resolving this matter!! We also praise God for a good trip recently to visit and encourage TD folks in Central Laos. It is exciting to see their vision and joy!
- Please pray for Ellie and Helen as they travel back to Vietnam visiting contacts, praying for an open door to share the Love of God, and also looking for opportunities to develop a new weaving initiative. Pray for safety in travel, divine appointments, and the words to share with a hungry and deprived people, the TD of Vietnam.
- Please also pray for G and another friend as they will visit many of the same areas just after Ellie. Please pray for new contacts which can be developed and for the chance to meet persons of peace. The other friend going along will be his first time to TD areas. He and his wife are sensing God's call to work with the TD, specifically doing Bible translation of the OT.
Some of you have written and asked of news on the Teacher. Nothing has been heard at all from him. His wife still holds on to her faith in a good God, but we are wondering about bringing some sort of closure to this, so she can move on!
- Please pray for wisdom for those counseling her and walking through these days with her. She is thinking about her future and what she would like to do to serve Him. She continues to teach and assist others.
