Eastern Lightening
“Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you.  For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.” Matt 24:4,5

A local Zhuang brother went to an evangelical church and met someone who invited him to a birthday party.  At the birthday party he was impressed that they didn't smoke or drink. They invited him to study the Word together.  He, being hungry for the things of God, accepted.  On this next meeting, he was a bit surprised to find out they “forgot” to bring their Bible.  Furthermore, they shared with him another book they often study from.  It turned out that the people he met where from a cult called, “Eastern Lightening”.  They often seek out places where the Truth is taught so that they can lead young believers away from the Truth.  Fortunately, this brother realized they were a cult and quickly excused himself.  When they tried to persuade him to stay to pray for him, he refused. 

As the Church in China grows, so do the cults and other religions.  Pray that God would give the Zhuang people the faith to believe the truth.  Pray that God would purify the church and make it stronger through these difficulties.  To read more about this dangerous cult, please go to:  http://www.miaoupg.com/eastern_lightining.htm  

Praise:
1. That Father gave this Zhuang brother discernment to know the people he met were from a cult.
2. For the growing number of true believers in various Zhuang areas.
3. That infiltration by Eastern Lightening was detected and eventually stopped in another Zhuang area.

Pray:
1. For protection for all true believers from this very dangerous cult.
2. That young Zhuang believers would be solidly grounded in the Word.  That they would be able to discern truth from error.
3. For the man that has some theological errors in his thinking.  Pray that these errors would be corrected.  Pray that the erroneous things he is telling others would stop and that God's name would be gloried in his city.
