“When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” Isaiah 8:19
A 21 year old Zhuang girl from the countryside was planning to go to Guangzhou province to “see the world” and earn some money at a toy factory there. She had already been working in a city 30 minutes from her town down for several years. When she discussed it with her parents, they encouraged her.
A few days later on market day, however, they also consulted a famous fortune teller in the market town near their home. “This is not a good year for you to travel, wait till next year,” was reply of the fortune teller. This changed the mind of her parents and they were no longer in favour of her going this year. Fortunetellers are often consulted on any of the important aspects of life. Pray that the Zhuang would come to know the One who holds the future in His hands and is able to give the best direction in life.
Praise:
1. For a young Zhuang girl that recently dedicated her life to Christ!
2. That God reveals Himself to those that honestly seek Him (Jer. 29:8-14)
3. For the staff at a Christian run business that are now working well together. Pray that their hunger for Him would continue.
4. That foreigners in another Zhuang area have been able to very quickly register their business!
Pray:
1. For the Zhuang to put their trust and faith in the One who created them and loves them.
2. Wisdom and love for believers as they seek to find a balance between honouring non-believing parents and putting their trust in God.
3. For spiritual training that will be held in January. Pray for safety as well that participants will be able to effectively put into practice the things that they learn.
4. For wisdom as a family from another part of China seeks to service God in a Zhuang area.
