“I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done-- by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.“ Rom 15:18-19
Two different relatives gave “Paul” a call with urgent medical needs. An uncle in his 30's had a minor stroke and needed to go to the hospital in the city for treatment. Even though he is a business man, he could not afford to stay at the hospital and stayed in Paul's apartment over night while being treated during the day. Another relative's child also needed medical attention.
Health is one of the basic needs everyone has. With limited financial resources, the Zhuang in the villages often turn to the local village shaman for help. This sometimes results in people being healed, at least temporarily. This power, however, does not come from God. Jesus clearly states that Satan (i.e. the thief) “comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Throughout China people have come to believe in Jesus initially through seeing His power heal the sick or in some other miracle. Paul proclaimed the good news, the scripture says, and God confirmed this message with signs and miracles. Pray with us that God would continue to reveal himself among the Zhuang!
Praise:
1. For many who prayed regularly during the October month of prayer for the Zhuang.
2. That Jesus still heals today and that His healing is free!
Pray:
1. For a solid Zhuang believer's father that is sick and experiencing nightmares including visits from a good friend that passed away about half a year ago. His mother recently decided to follow Christ, but he has not for fear that it will cause problems in the village they live in if he does not take part in various superstitious activities. Pray that God would show not only the father, but the whole village that He is the Almighty One!
2. For faith and boldness for believers, that they would pray for the sick and that God would heal them as He promised.
3. For an upcoming athletic activity that will bring Zhuang student and teachers in contact with western believers. Pray that God would be glorified in their midst!
4. Pray for believers in a Zhuang area as they commit to pray for God to do great things in their area!
6. For a Christian Zhuang leader that disappeared over a month ago and is probably being held by Eastern Lightening cult members. Pray for protection over his mind as well as that he would be released.
