The third day of the third month of the lunar calendar is “The Singing Festival”.  Traditionally it's a day when the Zhuang set aside their farm work and get together to sing.  In the past it was also a time where young people would look for a mate through antiphonal (responsive) singing.  Times have changed so it may be more common to find Zhuang young people in a Karaoke bar now.

The government in SW China have recently been encouraging Zhuang culture.  In one prefecture, this holiday has become an official prefecture wide holiday.  The government hopes that the unique minority culture will also encourage tourism and attract outside investment.  Pray that the Zhuang would be able to appreciate their heritage, but be willing to let go of the things that would keep them from knowing their true Creator.

Praise:
         1. For about 20 students in a rural school that are trusting in Christ.
         2. For a growing number of believers on university campuses.
         3. For the chance to sing and celebrate.  Pray that these gifts would some day              be used to sing praises to our Creator!

Pray:
         1. For wisdom and encouragement for about 20 new believers in a school with              many Zhuang students.

         2. For godly role models of Christian relationships.  Pray for Zhuang believers              that are looking for a believing spouse.

         3. Pray for on going leadership training of Zhuang and Han believers.  Pray also              for believers in a remote village with a regular pastor.  Pray for those who are              seeking to minister to them as well.
