devil's work.” 1 John 3:8b
A family living in the city
was really excited about a new job opportunity for their
daughter. The mother, however, realized that the first
day was an “unlucky” day. Therefore she strongly
encouraged her daughter to start work the following
day. The last time she did not heed her mother's
warning something bad did happen!
A friend recently
translated a list of Zhuang taboos. In an animistic
worldview, various spirits, including the spirits of the
ancestors, need to be appeased in order to avoid
problems in life. Educated city people “believe” in
science and in evolution ... but there is still a part
of them that feels the need to appease the spirits. It
is also common for some parents to “motivate” their
children by telling them that if they are not good or
don't stop crying the “bad spirits” will get them.
Animistic practices often are most easily seen in events
surrounding births, deaths, weddings, illness, and the
various yearly festivals.
- Please
pray with us that the Zhuang, including some
Christians, would come to have a biblical worldview
of life. That they would know God created all
things and even now can and will help us in all
areas of life. That our relationship with God is
based on trust and an obedience rooted in love.
- Pray
that the Zhuang would know God has complete
authority over the spirit world.

- A
returning family has made a smooth return and
resettlement after their Home Assignment.
- For
those who are already turned from the fear of
superstition to a love relationship with their
Creator!
Prayer:
- That God
would expose the lies of Satan regarding the spirit
world.
- That
people living in fear would be set free from that
fear.
- For
wisdom and love for believers that can no longer
worship their ancestors. Especially as they relate
to unsaved relatives.
- For
wisdom and divine guidance for a family that will
need to find another way of getting a visa to stay
in country.
