A few months back, we talked about a village where Faith lived and where the Headman was doing everything to make it difficult for the Christians. He would tell the local police about everything that anybody did. He would sometimes even get caught in his own scheming.
When the police came to investigate the Christians who were having a meeting the police also went next door and found the Headman gambling! This is illegal in this country, so he was fined!!
Proverbs 24:28 - Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause, For would you deceive with your lips?
Over the last few months, "for some reason", the government has been less favorable to this man and a month ago, he was removed from the position. With this going on, the government held a small election in the village to see who would be elected to be the next headman! Many younger folks decided they didn't care and didn't go to vote. The Christians all went to share their desire to see a Christian elected to this post. The old people came to the voting, but they couldn't read the names! So the Christians asked if they had anything against the Christians and the older people said, "No, we get along ok with them!" They said, "We'll vote for #2 then; he is a Christian." In many cases, this is what they did and to the Glory of God, the Christian was elected!! Now many of the villagers are not happy, but it was a fair election and he was elected! God controls the future of the Kings and the headmen!
- Praise God for his understanding of all things
- Pray for wisdom for this Christian man who was elected into the headman position. May he experience blessings and joy!!
- Pray for two young men from this village as they begin discipleship/trade school in the next month. Lee and Jay are both Tai Dam and both graduated from grade 12 last year. They want to go on to serve God in a trade and are excited to have this opportunity to study further!
Please continue to remember the Teacher, who has been missing for 156 days now.
