"Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel?" Ezekiel 18:31
1000 Tai Dam villages are in Laos and Vietnam. Most of the villages have no Christians. Where does one begin to start to find villages and people interested in the Truths of God? The Teacher has traveled to many Tai Dam villages and all the time he is looking for "Persons of Peace" (Luke 10). Where are the people in whose heart God is at work?
One method used by the Teacher sounds something like this: Teacher says, "In my travels to various Tai Dam villages, I am looking for a village or a few, where the people are being blessed by the ancestral spirits. We honor and remember them through weekly and yearly ceremonies, and as such, I want to find where those villages are who do things the right way, and as such, are blessed. Are you blessed here by the way you do your spirit ceremonies?"
The headman replied, "Ha, we are as poor as we ever have been."
Teacher explained, "You know, this is what I find in every Tai Dam village that I have ever gone to. Things are the same or worse than they ever have been. I think we Tai Dam need a new way to honor the spirits! Or maybe, we need to find other spirits that are more powerful than the spirits we serve!"
From there, the Teacher looks for people open to this new thought and then begins to introduce them to the Sovereign God, how He loves them, how He has all power to help them, and how He is waiting for them to call out to Him.
Please Pray:
1. That God would help the Tai Dam to see the real truth behind their spirit ceremonies. May he allow them to see the bondage it puts them into, the fear it produces, and the lack of hope it brings to the younger generation.
2. That God would give people the heart to seek Him. May they not settle for the way things have been, but give them creative and bold hearts to find the Creator.
