In a backward village, where a struggling church existed with poor leadership for many years, God is doing an exciting work! Those Christians that were serious about their faith have prayed, sought His will, met together, and done what they could to share His love with those around! And how were they treated in return? Chickens were stolen from them when they weren't around, meat was stolen when they weren't looking, fences were broken down and the boards taken, etc. One could never leave the house or land unattended. However, these days, things are beginning to change. There are getting to be so many people that profess faith in Christ, that the local authorities are becoming concerned! In this land of "saving face", the authorities would never speak face to face with the Christian leaders, but rather tell the children and expect them to pass the message on!! "Your Christianity may begin to get you into trouble! You better stop going that way!" The sad thing is that this is not unique among villages in Laos!
Praise God that He is doing a great work in this village and drawing people to Himself, changing society, and helping the poor!
- Please pray that the Christians would be wise in the way they humbly move ahead in God's grace and guidance. May they not "force" issues but rather seek His great wisdom!
- May the Christians continue to learn obedience to His Word and love for their neighbors as they express, "His will here on earth as it is in heaven!"
- Pray that the authorities hearts would be softened and that in the upcoming months of celebrations, their understanding of Christ and His teaching would be seen as Good News! May Christmas become a great time of celebrations across the countries of Laos and Vietnam!
Thank you for your part in reaching the Tai Dam.
