Have
you ever read a booklet of prayer for an
unreached people group?
This
is a booklet usually 20-30 pages long
and highlighting different items for
prayer for a month or a few weeks.
There are many prayer guides out for the
peoples of the Mekong region, Mien,
Hmong, Lao, Thai Leu, Shan, etc.
However, there is NOT one for the Tai
Dam! Yet!
With
God's help and a lot of time from
others, this is about to change. People
are gathering stories, thoughts, and
ideas from many areas where the TD
live. We are getting both missionaries
and Tai Dam themselves to write on
different topics. This book will be a
30 Days of Prayer for the Tai
Dam.
One
goal we have for this booklet, is to
see a renewal in peoples commitment to
praying for the Tai Dam. After seeing
(and you praying for) the battle that
wages for the souls of the Tai Dam in
Vietnam, we are more than ever realizing
that this work will only happen, if He
allows it. We humans have done what we
can, and after seeing how "effective"
our efforts are, we can: 1) give up, 2)
keep on stubbornly, or 3) move ahead on
our knees.
In most
instances we know of, when people began
to produce these types of books, they
came up against many obstacles.
- We
ask you to join us, as we pray that we would find/write
stories, that would give people a
new look into the Tai Dam life and
culture, which would lead them to
pray more for the TD.
- Secondly, we would ask that this
book would be collated and ready for
printing by the first of the new
year. We would like to see
it out and into praying hearts by
Thai new year, which is the same as
Chinese New Year.
If
you know of any helpful items you would
like to see included in this booklet,
please e-mail us. Also if you know of
numbers or groups of people that you can
distribute them to, please let us know
so we can print the right amount this
first time. Not so many that we waste
His money and they sit on a shelf, but
not so few that we don't have enough for
everyone that is praying for the TD. We
hope to see this book translated into
Thai, Lao, Korean, Chinese, and German.
