It has been heart-wrenching to receive news about the Tsunami disaster. May the love of the Lord be shown through the response of his Church and through a softening of the hearts of those who are suffering that they may cry out to the one who saves.

  Please pray on for the Shan. If the Shan people were visited with catastrophe and suffering of the magnitude that we have seen recently how would they be likely to respond? Who would they cry out to? We have heard that in Aceh, Indonesia that though people have lost everything, some Aceh Muslims have been refusing aid if they know that it has come from Christians.

We know that the Shan are suffering! It is just that the world is virtually blind to this. Hundreds of thousands forcibly relocated, rape, killings, poverty, AIDS..... May God's church respond by showing His love to the Shan-Tai.

Do we believe that to perish apart from Christ is to perish eternally? Let's be renewed in our passion to pray!

• Many Shan heard something of the gospel message during Christmas outreaches, pray on for lasting fruit.
• N and L, a couple who had separated because of unfaithfulness, have both found Jesus. Now, reconciled with God, may they be reconciled with each other.
• Several short term teams are involved on outreaches at the moment. Pray that the Lord will call some to a longer term commitment to Shan-Tai ministry.
