Mr Jo has been struggling in his faith. His wife left him several years ago for another man leaving him with their two kids to raise. The man subsequently died of AIDS and Mr. Jo became fearful that he might have contracted AIDS himself when his wife came back to him briefly. Mr. Jo has ad several tests for HIV which have tested negative but God's peace has eluded him. Mr Jo like many Shan-Tai men has made his livelihood from cutting illegal timber. Recently in an argument with other woodcutters someone tried to kill Mr Jo. The gun used was a good gun that it's owner was proud of. However when he tried to shoot Mr Jo, it jammed. Since that event the gun has been useless and it's owner is saying that it is because Mr Jo is a Christian. Mr Jo is still struggling in his faith but he has given up cutting wood for a living and he has a powerful testimony of God's grace and protection.
- Pray that trust in God and obedience to Christ would increasingly become the hallmarks of what it means to be a follower of Christ amongst the Shan-Tai.
- It is the rice harvest time at the moment. Pray that as Christian Shan, cut, thresh winnow rice together they will have opportunity to testify to their hope in Christ.
- Pray for new believers to be grounded in God's word so that when they share with others they will share the truth of God's word and not just "If you believe in Jesus you will see great blessing."
