A retired missionary to the Shan-Tai once shared before leaving the field. "I thought that God had given me gifts in leadership training. The problem has always been that there have never been any leaders to train." The situation is beginning to change. There has been an increase in the number of people who are actively working amongst the Shan.
As you read this there is a training seminar taking place with workers from several people groups where the majority of those being trained are Shan!! Pray that there would be a multiplication of effective, godly leaders. Pray for good interaction and fellowship and that the training would be useful seeing churches multiply to the Glory of God.
- When Shan-Tai come to Christ in Burma they often have to move away from their village and go and live with other Christians. This means that there is no continued witness in the villages from where they have come. Pray for new believers to be bold enough to stay in their villages to be a witness to the Lord.
- Radio continues to be a vital means of getting the Gospel to Shan in places that are hard to reach. Pray those involved in producing programs, that they will be well produced, effective and bear eternal fruit.
- Pray that Shan Christian witness would be a joyful expression of a living relationship with the Lord Jesus and not the presentation of a religion that is the means to get help from wealthy foreigners.
