We Shan are like tigers, and we have a saying that two tigers cannot live together in the same cave." This was the opening comment by a Shan church planter who was invited to address a group of foreigners with several organizations who are working with the Shan-Tai. He went on to explain that historically the Shan have never experienced unity, adding that "The only person who can bring about unity amongst the Shan is Jesus Christ."
Another Shan leader pleaded with the group that the factionalism and denominationalism prevalent in churches amongst other people groups must not be repeated amongst the Shan-Tai.
- Pray that Christian groups working amongst the Shan-Tai would be able to model unity and reconciliation to the Shan.
- Pray for those faithful believers who are serving God in remote locations where darkness appears to reign. Pray for a move of the Holy Spirit that would sweep many Shan-Tai people into God's kingdom.
- Pray for the radio broadcast which now transmits in Tai Long, Tai Nua and Tai Khamti. Pray that it would reach the ears and hearts of thousands of Shan-Tai.
