"The
Burmese soldiers came into our village
five weeks ago. Each
household has to look after several
soldiers. The commanding officer decided
to live in our house because we don't
drink. We have to look after him. Please
pray for us, I only get back from
working in the fields at about 5pm each
day. My wife is at home all day and we
are concerned as there are so many men
about."
These are
the legitimate concerns of a family that
recently came to Christ. They have been
making a hazardous 3 hour trip to
Thailand once a month on foot in order
to be built up in their faith. The last
time they came, the Burmese officer gave
them permission to do so.
- Pray for
God's hand to restrain the Burmese
soldiers from committing acts of evil
against villagers in the Shan State.
- Pray for
protection of Christians traveling in
dangerous places. Often landmines are a
problem.
- May God be
glorified by the witness of Christians
struggling in difficult circumstances.
