Over the
past year,
Shan-Tai in China have
been coming to Christ. In the past
month, a key evangelist has been
experiencing significant opposition.
First, this came in the form of threats
and accusations from a prominent
Buddhist monk, then two weeks ago she
was beaten up by her husband. When a
concerned friend contacted her she said
that she had "already forgiven her
husband and that she really felt joy."
- Pray
that the winds of opposition and
adversity may be used to fan the
embers in the hearts of believers
into flames of faith that will
spread to the Glory of God.
- Flooding
has brought hardship and loss of life in
several parts of Maehongson province
and Chiang Mai during this rainy season.
Pray that, those affected would cry out
to God for relief and salvation.
- Many Shan
refugees who have been in Thailand for
several years are being given an
opportunity by the Thai authorities to
get a card which will give them rights
to live work and travel in any part of
Thailand. The catch is that it costs
5-6000 baht (about 3 months wages). This
situation is faced by Christians and
non-Christians alike. With the pressure
to find money, pray folk will call out
to God to provide, and that He out of
His riches will provide.
