Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:7-10

Persecution:
The U.S. Secretary of State has designated Myanmar as a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act for particularly severe violations of religious freedom.

The Karen people are not in a position to defend themselves when the Burmese soldiers come to the villages; the people have to run. The soldiers enter their villages and destroy their crops and many of their homes.

The Burmese junta declared Karen and Karenni areas as ‘free-fire’ zones so the Burmese soldiers shoot people on sight. It is ethnic cleansing. The fittest survive. Because of this there are still people fleeing over the border into Thailand to seek shelter and a safe place to stay.

Praise:

• Thank the Lord for distributed rice to people inside Myanmar. Praise you Father, for looking after the hungry, needy, suffering people.

Pray:

• Outside Rangoon, most Christians worship in house churches, but this is illegal. They must be very quiet. They have to be careful. Pray these house churches will not be a target for persecution.
• Myanmar is a Buddhist country. They see Christianity as an American religion. Judson, the first missionary 200 years ago, was an American. They say by becoming a Christian you are being westernized. Pray people will understand that Christianity is the only way to get freedom, a way to get rid of sin, getting a new life for eternity with God the Father, without fear, no suffering and no tears.
• You cannot print Bibles in Burma. This is illegal. It is also against the law to import Bibles. All Bibles must be smuggled into our country. There are some in the military who can be paid with money to smuggle Bibles into the country. Pray for many, many more Bibles to be smuggled into Myanmar.
• For equal rights of the peoples of Myanmar.  Pray for religious freedom. Pray for freedom to travel. They need a permission from the government to have a camera, a radio or television. Pray for freedom to come to Myanmar.
