The Burmese military seem to take every opportunity go to destroy food. For example, in West Karen State the military got into the storehouse cut open food boxes and barrels with long knives and bayonets. In the area 1300 people run of out of fear for the patrols of the Burmese military. They knew that they had to run and hide for safety.
In September-November last year 400 people had to leave the KL and LW districts because of military activities. Some of these people saw their houses burn down. In total 20,000 baskets with rice went up in flames.
