Dumb kid
Four year old little La clung to his mother, gaping at the new visitor with her children. La felt his mother’s elbow jutting into his side as she hissed, “greet the visitor!” But La remained dumb, staring wide-eyed. “He’s not intelligent,” his mother condemned him. It wasn’t the first time she’d said that. La’s thoughts wandered and he didn’t hear the visiting woman saying, “He is intelligent, but he’s also shy.”

So naughty
Bud is another four year old. He is also quiet, but full of mischief. Basically, he is bored. There is nothing to do at his house, nothing to play with. His mother is busy with his baby brother. His father is at work in the garden. When his mother calls for him he ignores her and enjoys the commotion it causes. “That boy is so naughty, so naughty!” his mother tells anyone who will hear it.

While everybody loves kids, parents tend to be negative about their own. They continually put them down instead of building them up. They don’t know how to keep them occupied and threaten their children that the spirits will come and make them obey.

• Please pray for then Phuan children. They need to know that there is a Father who values them enough to sacrifice his own Son.
• Please also pray that the Phuan will become aware of the power of words
