Mrs. Lilly says their well is dry and Mrs. Gold says the same thing. Miss Chan looks after a lot of poor children and has also run out of water. She is looking for well diggers who might be able to get down to the water table.

Why no water? Partly it is because the Phuan live on a plateau and there is not much water. Add to this, November to April is the dry season with little or no rain - it means your wells are going to run dry.

So what the solution? Basically tough it out and wait for the rain to start – hopefully in May!

The Phuan are also suffering from spiritual wells that are bone dry. Where to find love, forgiveness, hope, truth? Jesus said, “Come to me and out of our inner being will flow rivers of living water!”
