Grandpa is one of the few Phuan believers in his province. He used to be a spirit doctor but about 10 years ago he came to Christ.

Recently Grandpa remembered that he still had some stuff stashed away in his house, stuff that in years gone by he had used for demon ceremonies, a dagger, some silver and brass coins, and a silver cup. Remembering the stuff; he immediately decided to get rid of it – along with all the negative association with the past. Grandpa did not hesitate even though this stuff was worth one or two months’ wages.

His daughter, 2 grandsons, a grand-daughter-in-law and 2 great grandchildren gathered with him. They read the Bible together, prayed and then threw the stuff in the fire to symbolize their rejection of it. After it sat in the flames for a while what remained was taken and thrown in the creek.

Grandpa kept saying over and over, “All I want is Jesus, all I want is God. I don’t want any of this demon junk. All the devil ever did for us was to make us miserable.”

• pray that the Phuan will aggressively reject all that is of the flesh the world and the devil, wanting only Jesus, only God
• pray that Phuan believers will be holy and pure, a delight to their Heavenly Father
