Desperate to Get Ahead

What do you do when the odds seemed stacked against you?
Sick husband who can’t work.
Four kids to raise.
Hard to find a decent job.
These are the odds facing Mama Ball.

The other day 2 new prostitutes turned up in town so Mama Ball rented them a lean-to on the side of her house. It brings in a few more dollars but now all the neighborhood ladies are mad at her. Then she got a job shoveling gravel to make a road. Pay’s not bad but it’s never enough. Work all day but never get ahead.

This is the lament of Mama Ball and a lot of other Phuan. Life is uphill.

Bottom line is they need LIFE and a whole new reason for existence. Please pray.
