February 2008 - Hmong, Mien, Shan

Hmong
The vast majority of Black Hmong have not heard the gospel. With no Black Hmong Christian literature available, the few Black Hmong believers sing hymns, read Bibles and listen to sermons in a different language than their own. Thank God that they can at least pray in their own Black Hmong dialect!

Mien
The man who was the voice of Jesus dubbed into the Mien version of the Jesus film was asked, “Do you find that speaking the part of Jesus has had any special impact on your life?” He thought carefully then said, “Yes, perhaps some, but not as much as the daily reading of the Scriptures!” At last the complete Mien Bible is at the printers and will soon be in the hands of the Mien!  Praise the Lord!

Shan – Tai
Many of the Shan-Tai in Myanmar, China and in N. Thailand live near other people groups which have some believers but so far, most of the Shan–Tai have not responded to the gospel.
A wonderful exception happened recently! Five Shan–Tai families in Myanmar were kicked out of their village for accepting Christ and had lost their homes and fields. These five Shan-Tai families are now living on a small parcel of land donated by Lisu Christians!
