Hmong
The vast majority of Black Hmong have not heard the gospel. With no Black Hmong Christian literature available, the few Black Hmong believers sing hymns, read Bibles and listen to sermons in a different language than their own. Thank God that they can at least pray in their own Black Hmong dialect!
- March 2008 is the target date for starting Black Hmong radio broadcasts. Pray for the radio team as they edit, mix and assemble 53 chronological teaching lessons into 30-minute broadcasts. Pray for the twenty-two other recorded messages about what it means to be a believer in Christ that need editing for clarity.
- Workers are finding insatiable hunger for the Word. Beyond expectations, over 500 VCDs of Biblical teaching were distributed recently…and this in a group which is basically unreached.

Mien
The man who was the voice of Jesus dubbed into the Mien version of the Jesus film was asked, “Do you find that speaking the part of Jesus has had any special impact on your life?” He thought carefully then said, “Yes, perhaps some, but not as much as the daily reading of the Scriptures!” At last the complete Mien Bible is at the printers and will soon be in the hands of the Mien! Praise the Lord!
- The Mien plan to have a dedication for the new Mien Bible in March 2008. Pray the Mien Bibles through the printers and into the hands of the Mien. Pray too that they will read them and be taught and blessed through them
- Mien live in many countries of SE Asia as well in the U.S., Canada and France. To provide for readers in different countries, different scripts were required. The Bible is being printed in 4 different scripts – the Old Roman script for the older generation who still use it, a New Roman script for those in the U.S. and several other countries, the Thai Mien script, and the Lao Mien script. All say exactly the same thing in Mien but are written differently and each script will be printed as a separate book.
- Praise!! Hundreds of Mien in some places are coming to God! Some Mien young people in the U.S. are seeing the need to get involved and to return to Asia to reach their own people! A few Thai Mien are now in full time ministry!
Shan – Tai
Many of the Shan-Tai in Myanmar, China and in N. Thailand live near other people groups which have some believers but so far, most of the Shan–Tai have not responded to the gospel.
A wonderful exception happened recently! Five Shan–Tai families in Myanmar were kicked out of their village for accepting Christ and had lost their homes and fields. These five Shan-Tai families are now living on a small parcel of land donated by Lisu Christians!
- Praise God for God’s love and power at work between people of different languages. Please pray for many in the persecuting village mentioned above to be won to Christ.
- Pray that the believers will continue to live the love and truth of Jesus as they interact with others around them – reaching others within and outside of their own language group.
- Pray for believers to go to the many Shan-Tai groups with no contact with believers.
