December 2007 - Akha and Nung

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Akha
Most Akha people live in countries which vigorously resist anyone seeking to serve the Akha. Also, many Akha live in hard to reach places beyond the reach of roads and electricity. Radio is able to go where people cannot. A few Akha Christians are working on developing Akha radio programs. There are a few Akha believers in Myanmar, China, Laos and many Akha believers in Thailand. A few followers of Jesus, who love the Akha, are seeking to learn the Akha language and culture so they can serve the Akha. Nung
Thousands of people from the ethnic minorities of the northern provinces of Bac Giang and Lang Son have gone outside of Vietnam in order to work. Lang Son is a border province with many ethnic minorities. At least 1 in 2 from this province would be ethnic minority: typically Nung or Tay. Lang Son is the center of the Nung. God has brought some of these Nung people in contact with believers outside of Vietnam. God has recently sent some of His followers to serve the Nung in Vietnam with His love.
