“
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
- Almost every day Mekong workers are tempted to complain about their living conditions or about the people they are called to live among and serve. Pray for Mekong workers to be thankful every day.
Akha
Most Akha people live in countries which vigorously resist anyone seeking to serve the Akha. Also, many Akha live in hard to reach places beyond the reach of roads and electricity. Radio is able to go where people cannot. A few Akha Christians are working on developing Akha radio programs.
- Please pray for wisdom and perseverance and joy in their work. Pray for programs that effectively communicate with the Akha. Pray that the Akha, especially those in Myanmar, China and Laos will have access to a radio and will tune into the Akha programs.
There are a few Akha believers in Myanmar, China, Laos and many Akha believers in Thailand.
- Pray for these men and women and children as they live their lives in their villages and towns. Pray that they will know the blessing of the Lord, living full and abundant lives as faithful and effective servants of the Lord. Pray they will have victory over their temptations. Pray for some of them to reach beyond their own people and language to surrounding peoples. Pray that they will love one another and by their love others will know that they are Christ’s followers.
A few followers of Jesus, who love the Akha, are seeking to learn the Akha language and culture so they can serve the Akha.
- Pray they will have patience and perseverance.
Nung
Thousands of people from the ethnic minorities of the northern provinces of Bac Giang and Lang Son have gone outside of Vietnam in order to work. Lang Son is a border province with many ethnic minorities. At least 1 in 2 from this province would be ethnic minority: typically Nung or Tay. Lang Son is the center of the Nung. God has brought some of these Nung people in contact with believers outside of Vietnam.
- Pray for many of these Nung to find Jesus and to return to their homeland and share with others.
God has recently sent some of His followers to serve the Nung in Vietnam with His love.
- Pray for joy and patience and perseverance as they get started on learning the language and culture. Pray for open doors into the hearts of many Nung.
