Is ‘Mission’ Arrogance?
“Mission work does not arise from any arrogance in the Christian church: Mission is its cause and life. The Church exists by mission, just as fire exists by burning.” Emil Brunner

Mekong Springboard’s vision is “To see indigenous movements of reproducing churches among all Mekong peoples, obeying Jesus and His Great commission.”

Our mission is “To glorify God by reaching Mekong peoples through strategic prayer and ministry.” Wa
The Wa autonomous state is in Myanmar. The people groups that live in this state include the Wa, the Dai, the Lahu and the Han.

Six years ago a private Christian elementary school got permission to help meet the needs of the mass relocation of the Wa people. Almost the entire first group of students that were beginning their elementary education were 12 to 15 year olds. After starting, some of these had to drop out of school in order to work for their families in order to survive. Now this group of young adults has great potential for positive influence. Zhuang

The typical Zhuang village does not have a regular police force.  Disputes are often brought to the head of the village for mediation.  The reality, however, is that people often take matters into their own hands.  It is not uncommon for families without a man present to be taken advantage of.  If money is lent to a family and not quickly repaid, then the lender will often steal things for the borrower to sell the item to “repay the loan”.  In one situation, a man known to be stealing from others went missing and was found dead sometime later in a cornfield during the harvest.
