Released!
Praise God that 4 Khmu prisoners were released on December 6, 2007! There is still one Khmu man being kept in prison in Laos for his faith, Mr. Boonchan.
- Please pray for them and their families.
Evicted
In November 2007, there were 2 Christian families (9 people) who were forced to leave their village. These 2 families were able to sell their rice, pigs, chickens, and their belongings but were not able to sell their house and land.
- The persecution is ongoing in Laos in some areas, especially on individuals. Please continue to pray for them
These 2 evicted Khmu families were taken to a village where 23 families had been evicted 3 years ago. The total now makes 25 families (148 people) who have been forced out this year. The reason that they were forced out of their village is because they received the Gospel. In spite of severe pressure and persecution, many Khmu believers continue to share their faith with others.

Women’s Conference.
70 ladies were expected for the ladies conference in November 2007 - 93 ladies came! They came from 10 of the provinces of Laos. Many were younger ladies and 95 percent of them know how to read and write Lao! They were really hungry for God’s Word. None of them fell asleep during the many hours of class. They did not like to sit on a chair but rather sat on the floor as this is what they do in their homes. The conference schedule was:
- Wake up at 5 a.m.
- 6 a.m. – 7:30 listen to messages and pray for each others needs such as for prisoners and persecution
- 8:15, class started and went up until 12 for lunch.
- 1:00 p.m. class resumes again until 6 p.m. for dinner
- At 7 p.m. is a revival worship service until 11:30 p.m. After that it was entertainment until 1 a.m. in the morning.
Mistakenly Tuned In
BC was a former solider who married a woman from a different province. His wife’s dialect was slightly different from his dialect. One day at 8:30 p.m., he accidentally turned his radio on and heard the Khmu program talking about good things for the Khmu such as: God loves the Khmu, He has power over Satan, and whoever trusts Him will be saved. But his wife did not like the program and asked him to turn it off. She said that the man speaking on the radio was mad and it was not her dialect as well. Mr. BC insisted that his wife be patient and listen first. This man on the radio was talking about good things for the Khmu. He urged the Khmu to love God and one another. Mr. BC went looking for somebody to lead him to Jesus Christ and later he led his wife to Jesus Christ. Right now they are on fire for the Lord!
- Pray for the 1000’s of Khmu listening to the Khmu radio broadcasts.
