In China, it was a great privilege to meet Christian Akha brothers and sisters. Their hospitality was great! There are four villages where there are regular worship services on Sunday apart from the one in the town. One Akha couple, serving the Akha believers full-time, live in a simple small rented-room. The other connecting rooms are occupied by other Christian young people who have jobs in the town. This small colony is like an Akha village but it is surrounded by high and big buildings.

We also heard of more Akha Christians in another district. The non-Christian Akha in that area of China no longer keep the spirit paraphernalia nor observe spirit worship. However, they are keeping the social activities like celebrations of New Year, rice-planting etc. The Akha women’s Bible conference was attended by more than 170 mothers. The theme of this conference translated directly from Akha was, “If you love your spirit, be careful that sins put many traps all the way to catch hold of you.” Proverbs 22:5. Many women showed their interest and some of them shared their burden for their own husbands and for all the men in general.
