One of our team members Pastor S went Myanmar. He baptized three people. While there he "just happened" to meet some Akha people from Laos and they invited him to visit them. He was not keen to go as it is difficult to get the required permissions. The next day, two village headmen came to take him to their village in Laos. One headman is in charge of five villages.

These two men shared a story from their past.

The officials from the nearest town came and asked the Akha people about their religion - what it was or what they wanted it to be. The Akha leaders told them that they wanted to follow the 'Lisu religion' but they meant to say 'Yesu religion' - that is the Jesus religion. The officials were unsure about the Akha leaders' response. Pastor S advised them to speak with the officials again.

I believe, the Akha people in Laos are ready to accept Christ. Some Christian workers are planning to visit the Akha in Laos in the near future and also want to visit the Akha people living along the China and Vietnam border.
