Yi (Nisu) Quick Facts:
-Population over 1,000,000
-Live mostly in mountainous, hard to  reach villages in the Central and  Southern Yunnan Province of China
-Animism, Ancestor Worship and  Buddhism are the main religions

There is an area with a small handful of Nisu believers.  These believers were meeting with Chinese believers and a few others from different minority groups.  All manner of worship and prayer was done in Chinese.  Many of them cannot read.  Those who can read, can not read well enough to comprehend a Chinese Bible.  This has limited their ability to grow and mature in the Lord.  Well, like the seed that fell on rocky soil (parable of sower), persecution and trouble has come, and the plant has withered and died.

This small handful of believers were infiltrated by a cult called the Eastern Lightning cult early last year.  Since then, all have fallen away and have been deceived.  All except one older brother.  He is trying to stand strong “knowing in his heart” that this new teaching is wrong.

After recently visiting this area, we were shown how important it is for believers to have a firm foundation in the Word (in their language).  As we move forward in ministering to the Nisu we will continue to put an emphasis on translation work and getting stories and scripture done in the Nisu language.  Without the Word, new born Nisu believers are like babies left in a field to fend for themselves, feed themselves and protect themselves.

As we approach the year 2006 please pray and support us as we try to accumulate materials in the Nisu language for the harvest of souls to come!

Please Pray: Praise God:
