Yi (Nisu) Quick Facts:
-Population over 1,000,000
-Live mostly in mountainous, hard to  reach villages in the Central and  Southern Yunnan Province of China
-Animism, Ancestor Worship and  Buddhism are the main religions

Can you imagine being taught that you cannot pray, teach or worship in your own language?  That is what the Nisu believers who attend the government recognized 3 self church are told by their leadership.

Recently, we visited a small 3 self church that has 4 members.  One of the middle aged ladies who attends the church has a heart disease and cannot afford any medication or treatment.  Her 23 year old son is taking care of her and the whole village is watching, knowing her death could be very soon.  The incredible thing was that even non-believers who knew her were asking us to go and pray for her healing.  We prayed a prayer of faith asking God to touch her heart and heal it.

After the prayer I asked her if she knew that she could pray to God in her Nisu language.  She and her friend with her both did not believe me at first.  They had been told that prayers, teaching and worship can only be done in the Chinese language!  We taught them that God was the Creator of their language and that He finds their language important.   We also told them that they can sing to God in their Nisu language whenever they have a song in their heart.  The amazed look on their face said much to us.  Soon after praying for her we had to leave the village and return to our homes.  Please join us in prayer that God would heal this woman and use that miracle as a sign to save many in that village.

Please Pray:

Praise God:
