Before sunrise, she loads up her vegetables and begins the long,
mountainous, 3 mile walk to the market town. She walks full of anticipation, looking forward to greeting her childhood friend, who lives on the opposite side of the mountain range. She meets her friend at their usual location, and they discuss the week's events from their villages.
After a long day of bargaining and selling her vegetables, she makes just enough profit to buy the supplies she needs for the following week. She then loads her supplies in her pack, says goodbye to her friend, and begins the long walk back up the mountain to her home. If she times it right, she will make it home before the night air gets too chilly and before the rest of her family goes to bed.
The life of a Nisu woman is a demanding one. They work hard in the fields all day yet still find strength to care for their family and household. They live a simple life, yet they are some of the most content people I have ever met.
They work hard, enjoy singing, and they dance with all their soul. But most importantly, they are still living without the Peace of Christ. They live in constant fear of the evil spirits that torment their families. Nisu women still need the spiritual contentment that can only be found in the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Please Pray:
•Nisu women would find salvation in Jesus Christ and share it with their friends in the village, market towns, and beyond.
•God's plan and direction will be clear for two short term teams coming in July.
•Nisu language learning will go smooth.
•We will continue to make progress on the 2 nd dialect of the Nisu Gospel VCD.
