Wa Quick Facts:
-The Majority of Wa live in Myanmar
- Famous for their past involvment in  headhunting and opium trade
-In the early 20th century Christianity  spread among the Wa living on the  Myanmar-Yunnan border area
Recently the local political leader of a Wa District announced in a public meeting that government cadres are not allowed to believe in Christ despite of the fact that religious freedom is offered to the people in general, and that all cadres will be required to renounce their Christian faith in public.

As many Wa believers are government cadres, they are facing tremendous pressure. The reason for this move is that the Christian population is increasing.
