As
Christmas approaches, many Christians are busy
preparing for the main gospel opportunity of the
year. Across the country there will be many
evangelistic services held – especially in the
week leading up to Christmas. Regular church
members will be keen to invite many of their
friends to these events. Sadly, there is often a
disparity between these believers’ enthusiasm to
push their friends and family forward at the
altar call, and their own personal sharing of
their faith.
- Pray that this year will be
different. May many believers be
active in telling others about what the
birth of Jesus means to them, rather than
leaving this to the pastor of their church
to do. Also, pray that no-one will be inoculated against
future opportunities to respond to the
gospel by being forced to accept a gospel
invitation before they are ready for it.
The Jesus film
The Jesus
film has had government permission for use in
Vietnam for a number of years now, but the
number of people who have seen it is limited. In
the last 5 years it has been shown on TV twice,
but was cancelled 2 years ago.
- Pray for an opportunity this
Christmas for it to be shown once again.
Stadium
Evangelism
On 26th December
the Tin Lanh churches of Ho Chi Minh City will
be holding an evangelistic Christmas service in
a small stadium in the city. This is the first
time for decades that they have been given
permission to hold a service in a venue other
than a church.
- Praise God!
And pray for this event.
The permission was granted not by the
central city authorities but by the
authorities of the district in question -
where a local church has gained a very good
reputation through its ministry among drug
addicts. Pray that more churches
would be impacting their communities like
this, with good deeds which shine before
men, to God's glory.
