PRAYER FOCUS: Perseverance in Trials
Trials are a normal part of the Christian life. The Bible teaches that they are allowed by a loving God to develop perseverance which “must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” They are also meant to be occasions for joy! (James 1:2-4)
PRAY FOR
PERSEVERANCE AND
JOY FOR THE FOLLOWING YOUNG KHAM BELIEVERS EXPERIENCING TRIALS:
- Amy’s mother passed away this week. She is in an isolated area of Kham with no other believers around her at this time. The pressure to enter in to Buddhist funeral rituals is real. Who will comfort and encourage her in this dark valley? Pray “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles” will supply her every need.
- Sarah has returned to university this semester where she experiences regular persecution for her faith from other Tibetan students. Pray she would lean more and more fully on the Lord, know how to respond in these difficult situations, and seek out regular fellowship on campus with other believers.
- Jenny has a lot of pressure in her work situation to perform Buddhist rituals dishonoring to the Lord. She believes she needs to find another job. Pray she would find another job if that is the Lord’s will, but that meanwhile she would trust in Jesus and stand strong with great joy.
- Jerry has had a crisis of faith and it appears the fruit from the seed of his faith has withered and will not last. Pray the Lord would turn this apparent faith destruction into a faith building trial in his life.
