Short Term Bible School
The young people who attended the one month long Sgaw Karen Short Term Bible School were eager to learn and eager to apply what they have learned in order to minister in their home settings.
Now that the course is over and they are back in their villages pray that they bear much fruit in discipling other children and youth. They expressed that one of the biggest obstacles in the way of Karen youth coming to Christ is that many parents who still follow the spirits are strongly opposed to their children coming to faith.
In June there will a follow up to help teach the village evangelists on how to train local leaders who can care for the small churches that are forming in numerous villages. The teaching will be from 1st and 2nd Timothy.
- Please pray for Pastor BR who translates from Thai to Karen and who will be leading discussions on the points that we will be addressing.
- Many village evangelists fall into the trap of becoming the "village priest" who is expected to perform all the religious activities in a new Christian community. Pray that the evangelists will learn to make disciples who will be able to disciple others to walk with Jesus and not simply perform Christian ceremonies.
