Children’s camp
Together with the hostels parents we decided to organize a camp in October instead of in April. October is during the rainy season so there is plenty of water. April is the hot season and often there is lack of water. These days we are busy revising the booklet on the life of Jesus we used two years ago. Our goal is that the leaders, who come from different villages, will begin children's ministry in their villages. We are inviting the leaders to come in advance for the preparation and training. Evangelism Course
Mr. T, a Thai Christian was our speaker one day. He encouraged the evangelists to lead a life that honours God. We were expecting around 12 evangelists to attend but 22 Karen evangelists came to the course! The workers have multiplied even though some who attended last year were not here!

Ä, the evangelist, was arrested and exiled to Burma. His wife and children have followed him there. This is a big loss. He and another Karen evangelist often made trips together to unreached villages.

We were happy to hear that the church in M and the church in T sent out several evangelists to different villages and that people were touched by the Gospel. One village, L, is the place we visited 2 years ago with our musical. At that time we met only one older lady and her son who were strong Christians. Many drank too much alcohol and the village looked bad. Now there is a growing church and many have stopped drinking. Cross Cultural Camp
We are organizing a cross cultural camp in October for Thai Christians from different churches. They will hear about cross cultural work and will experience a little bit what it means to live in another culture. Many different ethnic groups live in the Mekong area. About 300 different translations of the Bible are urgently needed. Courses for Church Elders
Elders from the Sgaw Karen churches were invited to a course in October. One of the first expatriate workers gave the Bible messages. Over 70 men attended the  course!
