This year everywhere it is very dry and the hot season has not even started yet. Many rivers and creeks have dried out and water is getting short already. In several Karen villages there were fires and many families lost everything as their houses caught fire destroying everything, all they could save was their own lives.

• Pray for protection in this coming hot season, while the Karen burn their fields, that the fires are kept under control and don't destroy more houses
• Please pray that  the Christians and the churches help the affected families. May their love and giving be a strong witness to the communities and door openers to Karen who do not know God yet.

A seven year old Karen girl who had a cold was recently brought to a local hospital. Due to a wrong injection by the doctor, the girl fainted and even though she was transferred to the city hospital later she only got worse. After 3 weeks in ICU she died due to false treatment she received in the first place. Many Karen people live in isolated places and health care programs often do not reach them. In times of even simple sicknesses it can become fatal. In one such village 17 children died due to measles.

• Please pray  that the Karen people who need medical help will be treated with love and care and have the courage to seek medical help early enough.
• Pray that the medical care programs do reach the Karen  and help their real needs.
• Pray for all people who are involved in medical work among the Karen people to get stamina, wisdom and funds to do the challenging medical work in rural places.
