In
a Karen village the church building was taken over
by the teacher who preferred the church to the
simple bamboo house, that the government had built
as a school for him. Praise God that the Christians
did not loose heart but built a new church on
an even better location of the village. The
Christians in that village gave time and other
means faithfully. At the church dedication many
expressed thanks to God and testified that only
through Gods help, this new building was brought to
completion.
- Praise
God for
the openness of the Karen people towards the
gospel. In many places, the church buildings
are not large enough to fit all the people.
During the next couple of weeks of the dry
season, many churches are being
enlarged or rebuilt by the Karen congregations.
- Pray that
the Karen give priority to it, besides
rebuilding their own houses.
- Praise
God for various Bible courses, camps
and conferences taking place now during
the dry season.
- Please
pray for unity among the Karen Christians.
Some have lost their burning heart for the
Lord and are thinking more about their own
prosperity. Others are faithfully reaching
out to non Christian villages and give
their time, despite of lacking support
from their already established Karen churches.
