2:00 am - September 29, 2007
In the annals of Mien church history, September 29th 2007 must surely go down as one very significant date. Just before 2.00 am all the details of checking the layout of the Mien Bible translation - the introductory/copyright page, the glossary and maps etc. – were finally completed and CDs were made of the complete Mien Bible in the 4 Mien scripts.
Twenty six years of incredibly detailed, hard work was finally completed. The
Mien Bible is now ready for printing
- Please pray that the Bible will arrive from the printers in time for a planned celebration at the end of March next year.
We praise the Lord for His enabling over these years. The supernatural ‘opposition’ to having God’s Word in Mien has been very evident. The translators have experienced endless interruptions, many computer crises and scary health problems. Computer experts have – and still are, giving hours of their time solving problems and developing new programs. Over the years many Mien have given of their time to check the first draft translations of all the 66 books of the Bible. Crucially many of you have sustained and protected the whole project by your prayers and some have given financially. It has been a Body of Christ project with many involved.
Very soon now the Mien will have the
complete Word of God in their hands.
‘Holy and blameless.’ This sounds like a dream – far removed from reality. None of us match-up. ‘Thank you God’ that in Christ we are holy and blameless.
- Just as you have prayed the Bible translation project through to completion, please pray that God will use His Word to cleanse His people that they may indeed live holy and blameless lives.
NK and his family are back to their home for a break from their outreach to Mien in another country. They tell of one older couple who live in a village high in the mountains – 10 hours climb from the main road - who came to the Lord simply through listening to the
radio broadcasts. The broadcasts ford streams and climb mountains with ease and amazing speed!!
- Pray for NK as he brings the challenge of reaching out to the Mien across borders to the Mien churches and particularly to the young people.
- Please pray for funds for the airing of the daily Mien broadcasts. Please pray for those who teach and give messages over the radio that they may have that freshness in their relationship with the Lord and may know the anointing of the Holy Spirit for this crucial ministry.
