Mien Quick Facts:
-Around 11.2 Million Mien in China,  Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and the United  States
-Daoism is the main religion
-0.7% Christian
-Classified as Yao by the Chinese Gov't
Over the last 3 months of attending the baptismal classes TT’s face has changed.  Her face used to be hard and drawn.  But now there is a twinkle in her eyes and a smile hovering on her lips.  God’s light and love are changing her.  But as she sat down the smile vanished and her eyes hardened visibly.  ‘Next Sunday after the baptisms when we have communion and church members come to shake our hand to welcome us into the church, there is one person whose hand I can not shake.’  The hill fields of the Mien have no fences and no boundary posts.  Disputes over land are common.  TT and another Christian, FG, have not talked to each other for over 10yrs(!!) because of a dispute over the boundary line between their fields.

Mien CD of Hymns
Please pray for T recording and making a CD of the new Mien hymnal so that people can learn the hymns and new songs that they do not know.   She desperately needs a keyboard player as an accompanist.   Praise the Lord that people are willing to help and are really enjoying practising.  The recording will start after New Year.  Please pray for God’s provision of everything needed to make the CD. Please also pray for RM's best singers as they practice in preparation for singing 80 plus hymns (solos and groups) as their contribution to the recording of the new Mien hymnbook.

Mien Family as Cross-cultural Workers
Please continue to support the former pastor of TV and his family by prayer.  They are now in another country and learning the national language.  Pray for good progress with language learning for him and his wife.  Pray that in all they do their lives will reflect Christ.  Recently Christians from 2 different areas came for 5 days of Christian teaching.  Pray for them that they will be able to put into practice all the advice they were given and that they will be able to have good times of fellowship with other Christians.

Granny M
Granny M, who really loves the Lord, is very unwell.  She is afraid she is going to die.  In non-Christian Mien society a sick person usually ‘makes the most’ of any sickness to impress people how ill they are and in order to get a little sympathy for me.  Pray that Granny M will not make an undue fuss and be a good witness.  Please pray for her recovery.

Bibles Arrived - and then Confiscated
Recently over 100 NTs completed the
tortuous journey into a Mien village in a creative access country only to be confiscated in the village.  We felt devastated.  The Mien in these countries are so hungry for God’s Word but it is proving so difficult to get it to them.  This is a spiritual battle.  Another small consignment is going in within a few days of writing.  Please bind the forces of evil in Jesus’ Name and pray it into the hands of the Mien Christians.  This latest incident raises questions about where we print and how to get the materials in.  Please pray with us for the Lord’s clear leading.
