We had journeyed into virgin territory.  No one had ever done a survey of the area. No one had ever taken a real clear count of the Tai Dam villages in the area and no one had ever done any evangelism in the area, as far as we knew.

“Lord,” we prayed, “Please guide us and give us a picture of what you want to do in this area.”

As we came into the village we asked some of the men sitting around about the history of the village, about the people, and about their needs. What were the problems they faced here?  Soon the gathering swelled to 12 or 15 men.

One man in particular, an educated man, invited me into his house!  We talked about many things in life.  When his wife returned home from work he shared how she had severe bleeding and cramping for many months.

We spoke about the Great Creator God and how He loves His people of all nations and how He wants to bring healing, both physical and spiritual to the world.  We asked if we might pray for his wife and they both agreed.  We did so, had a nice snack, and said our goodbyes, hoping that God might bring us back here soon.

The Tai Dam man, that had visited the man and his sick wife, planned to return to take some medicine. He was not able to, so he sent some medicine with another friend going to the area. His friend did manage to meet the couple and speak a bit more of God’s love.

Last week this man phoned to explain that his wife was now better and they were very thankful for our visit!  This does not sound like too big of a deal, but when you consider that this family have no phone (there is not even a phone in the village) and that they called not only long distance, but also to another country, you begin to see what a big deal this was for this man!!!  It is truly a miracle!  We praise God for what He is doing in this area.
