“I worked as a communist soldier for 33 years. In all that time no one ever told me about God and I never met a Christian. But I knew there had to be a God.

When I retired from the army 4 years ago I decided to go looking for God. I wasn’t sure where to look but thought that I should travel to the capital city and look there. During my travels someone told me that sometimes God goes by the name of Yesu. Someone else told me that sometimes followers of God gather together as a group called a church. I was told that there were several such groups in the capital city.

I found one of these churches, went inside and was pleased to meet the leader of the church. He was an older man and of the same people group as myself. I asked him, “Can an old man like me find God?” The church leader sat down and talked with me right there and explained to me about God Almighty and about His Son, Yesu. I asked Yesu to make me His child – and He did!!

I returned to my home upcountry and told my wife and my children and encouraged them to follow God. I and my family are the only ones from my people group in this city and surrounding area that are following God. I know that some of my people in this area are interested in following Yesu but they are afraid of what the consequences will be. We are watched. We need to be careful. I am so full of peace and joy that I found God.

          - Pray for this man and his family that they may continue to grow as children of             the one true God. Pray that they will be able to meet with other believers in             spite of the government restrictions and the opposition of non-believers.

·         -Pray many more people of this people group will seek God and find Him.
