Lao Quick Facts:
-Population of 3.3 Million in Laos  and over 17 Million in N.E. Thailand
-Animist with a veneer of syncretistic,  folk Buddhism
-Daniel McGillvary was the first  missionary to the Lao in the late 1800's
A young Christian Khmu leader, Miss Kh, was doing an outreach with the girls who are working at the various sewing companies in a Lao city. She and her co-workers' main job was to do the visitation and give encouragement to the brand new Christians. She also did evangelism and discipleship training as well. During 2 months she was able to lead 2 girls to Jesus Christ. She visited the girls at noon time during their break for lunch. She was encouraged to find that the girls were waiting for them to visit and pray together.

The young people love to come to the Bible study and learn Khmu songs on Saturdays. Some of them stay overnight in the Khmu home and some return to the companies for the night. They started giving an offering for to help the ministry cost.  Praise God!

In May there was a special night when about 90 came to the Khmu house church on Saturday. It was a joyful and exciting time, and also many of them stayed there overnight. Miss Kh said that the head of the village had not expressed any complaint for the activities. Earlier in May the authorities ordered them to close their house church. But now they are holding worship service again at night time but not on Sunday morning as before. Please pray for them!
