In Laos abortion is on the rise.  Although it is illegal to perform these at government hospitals, private clinics do perform abortions.  Some women take a strong medicine to “clean the inside.” Pray that Christians will realize that this is wrong.

• Lord Jesus, help Lao pastors and lay leaders teach believers about the sanctity of life from the Word of God.  Protect the babies in Laos.

• Lord Jesus, help Christian young people respect their parents but refuse to give in to pressure to get involved in spirit worship and immoral practices.

• One Lao mother admitted that most people raise their children the way they raise chickens. “We feed them and we let them run free,” she said. Pray that Christian families will learn to discipline their children in love. 
• Even some Christian parents often believe their children cannot learn much when they are little.  They do not actively teach their children anything about God before they are ten years old.  Pray that this attitude will change in Christian homes.

Officials
A Khmu communist leader attended the Christmas celebration in LP.  He was impressed to see the Khmu helping one another by building schools and paying for water pipes.

• Pray that this man will see that God is the One Who changes hearts and lives.

The Khmu young people sang and praised God and performed dramas at the Christmas meeting.  The religious affairs official from that province does not know Jesus.

• Praise God that he did not stop the meeting.

Factory Workers
Some of the young people bring workers from local factories to hear the good news of Jesus Christ every Sunday.

• May many workers become believers and take the Gospel to their home villages.

Bible Training
116 people from Laos (25 of them were women) attended the Bible seminar in January.  One of the teachers was sick but God healed her in time to teach the women at the bible seminar.

• Help them teach others in their villages who are not yet believers.
• Lord, bring many women from Laos to the next seminar. Help them learn how to teach their children about Jesus Christ.
