Lao Quick Facts:
-Population of 3.3 Million in Laos  and over 17 Million in N.E. Thailand
-Animist with a veneer of syncretistic,  folk Buddhism
-Daniel McGillvary was the first  missionary to the Lao in the late 1800's
After an extremely difficult and testing year, Ms. N gives thanks to God for using the hard times to grow her in godliness & prepare her for His service. She says that God is increasing her compassion for people with problems. Her vision to reach out to prostitutes and drug addicts is starting to bear fruit. She has met a couple of drug addicts who said that they wanted to quit drugs and wanted to hear about Jesus. With the help of some other Christians in her village, Ms. N took the 2 drug addicts into her home. One of these two drug addicts believed along with 4 other local youths who were taking drugs.

Pray: Occupational Training
We prayed earlier this year for a house in the city that could be used for occupational training. Ms. N decided that rather than renting a place, God wants her to use her own house as a rehab & training centre. She wants to train people in raising animals and fish, to give opportunity for playing sports and training in furniture making. She already has agricultural training & her brothers can teach how to make furniture. There are currently few other opportunities in Laos to help people out of drugs or prostitution.

Pray: Earlier in the year those opposing her work wrongly labelled Ms. N a false teacher. The Christians in her village were warned not to meet with her. Praise God that she’s now teaching adults and youth in her village every Friday. Five people recently believed in a neighbouring village. She is now discipling these five people. Ms. N asks us to pray:
