Khmu Christian Leaders
There are only 4 former Bible School graduates who went to Bible School within Laos and all of them now are old and retired. How can we cope with the needs of the 48,000 Khmu Christians in Laos today? There are many people being saved daily throughout Laos adding to this number. These new believers are hearing the good news from people witnessing to them, by listening to Christian cassette tape messages and radio broadcasting.

Khmu young people are currently studying the Bible in Thailand. They are vitally important. They are playing a significant role among the Khmu Christians in Laos. The Khmu Christians respect them a lot. They invite them to preach and teach on Sundays and wherever they go the people warmly welcome them into their homes and kill many chickens to feed them a special meal.  We thank God for the 6 Khmu leaders who are working full time in Laos. Right now 2 more have finished the semester making it 8 people.

Questions & Answers of Persecution
Mr. TKh, during his term break was able to evangelize in MH area at some Khmu villages. 27 families professed faith in Jesus Christ. He did not count the total number of all the people.  He was very excited to see what God has been doing there.  It is a great work among the Khmu.

This area has been severely persecuted in the past year. The government has removed all of the leaders, beginning with the head of the villages, the head of the police department and the district governor.

The former head of the village had asked the new district governor to start persecuting Christians again. But the governor told him, “I was sent here not to persecute the Christians, but to oversee the welfare of the whole people. If you want to do that, you have to go to the provincial governor and he may order you to do that, not me.”

Then the district governor asked those new Christians, “Why did you become Christians, for what reasons?”

They said, “We have been bored by our old ways and life with the evil spirits, etc. We want to go a new way and direction with Jesus who can help us.”

The governor asked them, “Did somebody pay you to become Christians?”

Then they said, “No, we just accepted Him voluntarily.”

The governor said to them, “You can believe, but please do not witness to other people.  If they really want to believe, they should come to you, but you have to ask them for what purpose do they want to believe.  If they have a wrong purpose and they want to get something else, then don't accept them.”

The Christians rejoice that God has answered their prayer. TKh said that there are many people planning to become Christians, but they have to know what to do and how to say it to the authorities.  Please pray for them.
