Those of us with ready access to Bibles, pastors, and Christian friends find it hard to imagine the loneliness of believers with access to none of those.   Questions received by the radio broadcasters reflect life needs and desire to sort truth from falsehood.

Some questions mirror basic heart cries of all people:    How can I find a Christian husband/wife—especially if I don’t know any other Christians?    How can I be a good parent?     Since I have become a Christian, my husband will not support me and my four children; what shall I do?    Can you send teaching tapes so I can share God’s love with my village where my family and friends are all drug addicts who are filled with hatred for each other?

Other questions are rooted more specifically in Hmong background.   One  believer wonders what to do about the anger of his relatives when he does not participate in ungodly wedding ceremonies and funeral rituals.    Another says his family and friends are all drug addicts with great hatred for each other; he desires teaching tapes so he can share God’s love with his village.  A third has heard that the dragon of Revelation has swallowed two Hmong Christians and wonders if it is true.

When you are puzzled about how to pray for people you don’t know and who are far away, remember that their needs are similar to yours.  Pray for Christians with unbelieving spouses, for those struggling to be good parents, for single adults wanting to find a Christian spouse, for those wanting to share the gospel with others.   What life difficulties do you and your friends face?   Stripping away cultural differences, it’s likely that there are Hmong facing very similar core circumstances.   As you pray for yourself and your need, pray also for theirs.
