They’ve never had a pedicure, but these Hmong Christians have feet “shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.” They have beautiful feet.
Daily the farmer trudged the dusty trail to his garden. He watched others on the path with a sad heart. How could he tell them about the joy Jesus gives? To do so openly would result in persecution. Inspired one day, he placed a tape telling about Jesus on the path where his neighbors would find it. They indeed did find it, listened, believed, and sought him out to learn more.
A young Miao believer called Christian friends to arrange a meeting with a relative who didn’t know Jesus. When he introduced his friend, Aeden, to the other Christians, they were all surprised! Earlier the Christians had met Aeden on a train and had told him about God. Never expecting to see him again, they now had the chance to tell him all the stories of God including Jesus’ death and resurrection. And Aeden, too, believed.
Hmong evangelists recently travelled to a nearby area with little gospel penetration. Their express goal was to “cause people to know God and put their faith in the Lord Jesus.”
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who announces peace and brings good news of happiness, who announces salvation… Isaiah 52:6
Pray:
- Give bold witness to Hmong believers. Through their witness draw others to Yourself. In turn, give each new believer boldness until the story of Jesus explodes across the mountains of Asia.
- Inspire those developing a radio series on discipleship and persecution. Push aside all obstacles to completion of the series. Use the programs to strengthen believers under pressure.
- Bring unity of spirit and purpose among various ministries among the Hmong so that Your work is not hindered by jealousy or a competitive spirit.
- Father, You know how desperately workers need to be able to return to their ministries. Provide quickly the financial support to make this possible.
