Hmong Christians in B province, Laos, have been under duress for several weeks.    Under coercion and threat of danger,  one quarter of the Christians in one village signed a document saying that they would no longer follow Christ.   Similar threats to Pastor A, the church leader in the province, resulted in his martyrdom last year.

Unable to compel the remaining Christians to renounce their faith, village officials called a meeting of all villagers and called for a vote to force the rest of the believers to recant or face threats to their lives.   At the end of the meeting, the Christians still refused to renounce Christ.

In March, officials ordered deportation of ten Christian families.   Two of the Christian leaders escaped to seek help from the body of Christ.  They are being hunted by Laotian officials.

Pray:

  1. Father, we intercede today on behalf of Your suffering children.  Keep them steadfast, conscious of abiding in the shadow of the Almighty, whatever the threats.
  2.  Deliver them from the “snare of the trapper.”   Shield them with Your faithfulness.
  3.  In fearful situations, flood them with peace.
  4. Send Your angels to guide them and guard them in their ways.  Give sure direction and miraculous provision for them as they leave all they’ve known and face an uncertain future.
  5. Protect the children of these families from bitterness against you; let them see You so powerfully at work that they will never be able to doubt You or Your love.
Just as Stephen’s persecution forever changed Paul’s life, use this situation to change the hearts of officials and other villagers until they, too, know Your love and peace.
